Walk of Fame Nomination Procedure and Guidelines

The MS State Legislature established the Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Experience (MAEE) Hall of Fame in 2001 reserved for those illustrious Mississippi artists that have been nominated and elected into this most prestigious hall of recognition created in their honor. In 2009, the MAEE Board of Directors unveiled a Hollywood-style Walk of Fame.

Purpose

With the realization that there are many great artists from the state of Mississippi who might not qualify for the Hall of Fame but still have had formidable careers that deserve recognition, the MAEE will honor these artists on its Walk of Fame, which will extend from the MSU Riley Center throughout downtown Meridian’s Entertainment District and to the entrance to the MAEE.  The MAEE, will unveil a maximum of five (5) nominees per year, however, ANYONE can nominate a candidate for the WoF provided they accept responsibility for procuring financing of any stars not selected by the MAEE WoF Committee and approved by the MAEE Board of Directors.

An induction ceremony must be scheduled within two years of the selection date or the nomination must be re-submitted.
