Exhibition—The World on Paper: The Expressions & Realisms of Cathy Hegman + Laurin McCracken
The World on Paper features two artists with Mississippi connections: Cathy Hegman, a native of Holly Bluff, Mississippi, and Laurin McCracken, a Meridian native currently residing in Fort Worth, Texas. Their painting styles represent two different approaches to viewing the world—the lines McCracken uses in his still lifes draw you in close enough to admire the detail and to smell the flowers; Hegman’s mixture of watercolor and acrylic holds you at arm’s length, causing you to fill the void with thoughts, emotions, and wonder. The World on Paper is a glimpse inside the world as Hegman and McCracken understand it to be. Free with museum admission.
