Exhibition—From Couture to da’ Streets: The Fashions of Patrick Kelly + Cross Colours
From Couture to da’ Streets celebrates Patrick Kelly and TJ Walker, two men who used their adversities to channel their creativity into something greater than themselves. Walker and Kelly are both native Mississippians (Kelly from Vicksburg and Walker from Toomsuba) who became successful fashion designers in spite of the adversity they faced as African Americans. The exhibition features clothing, sketches, and related ephemera on display September 4, 2021–January 8, 2022. The MAX is hosting several events related to the exhibit.—check the Calendar of Events for event details and updates.
